From-To The Land.
Originally designed as a Supermalt speculative design, my work was featured at Westfield London & Windrush Generation Legacy Association‘s Black History Month exhibition 2025, under the theme Standing Firm In Power & Pride.Inspired by semiotics and Engelbert Mveng’s philosophy, the design honours my love for Cameroonian Makossa music. I illustrated traditional instruments inside a wooden token, referencing Abbia, a pre-colonial game of chance and exchange. As a French-born Cameroonian, the stamp symbol reflects my dual identity within the diaspora and recalls Cameroon’s first stamps from the colonial era. The design is both celebration and critique, exploring tensions between pre- and post-colonial Cameroon.
It reflects the challenge of forging modern identity while reclaiming heritage, bridging past, present, and future.
Key elements: stars for national unity, the University of Yaoundé logo for youth and education, and the Abbia game for ancestral tradition.
