In The Eyes of the Beholder, is a vinyl cover created for War Child & Secret 7’’. Inspired by Black gospel, jazz, and various artistic influences, it portrays the dark reality of war’s impact on children. Referencing Sunday Surrealism, a fusion of surrealism and religious elements, the cover examines the tension between performative empathy for war victims, and the media-driven hypocrisy of the governments involvement in conflicts. Through its imagery, the viewer shifts from being a distant observer to confronting the harsh realities of displaced children, challenging perceptions of innocence, suffering, and accountability.
